Just some pics of my ever evolving project.

Basicaly the setup uses a 1990's Ford Fiesta XR2i dashboard and winged style bucket seats ( Also limited edition Fiesta Items )

The plan is to fully use the indicator stalks ( still not wired yet ) and other real dashboard controls ingame, some of those switches are currently wired up.

I have a full set of gauges to install from Beta Innovations, they should be installed pretty soon.

This setup also uses the real steering column along with the ball races from the Fiesta, also hidden from view is a twin steel subframe to firmly hold the steering column rock solid and brance the rest of the tub ( only the front subframe is shown in the pics btw ), hidden behind the dash at the end of that steering column is a G25 wheel smile

I am using a stripped down Logitech Force 3d in the centre console as a force feedback gear shift, which works awesome I must say, big up to Andreas Panos for the FFshift util.

As you can see there is a 37inch Full 1080p HD LCD screen, runs 1920x1080p

    My rig is a

    ThermalTake Armor Liquid Cooled
    Quad Core QX6700 @ 2933mhz
    680i EVGA motherboard
    2gb Corsair Dominator Ram @1066hz
    Soundblaster X-Fi Fatal!ty

    Now some pics I guess.

Awesome stuff man!! A truly unique cockpit you have. It's an enormous project I'm sure to get all the bits working, kudos to you for sticking to it!
You're using FFshifter you say, but is the gearlever from the car I see in the pics the modified joystick you use? Or do you use the other joystick that I see standing on the floor? Will have to put some info and a link to RSC topic about that FFshifter on this site. It's a pretty neat concept! Have never tried it myself but I've read about it.
I like your chair and ofcourse your enormous FULL HDTV  Grin Oh and man you sure tore up that G25! Great result though.

Thanks very much for putting your setup on display man. It's a great addition to the collection!  yep

And ofcourse, a big WELCOME TO TWIP!  excited

    Thankyou very much smile

Yes, its been in the making for some 8 months now, I have had the dash and seats etc for a year or more, just hadnt had the time to start building lol.

    Re: the shifter.

I tore the guts out of the Logitech stick and mounted them inside the centre cosole where the real gearshift comes out, so all the internals are hidden beneath the gear gaiter in that plastic surround. I then got a metal shaft and cut it to length and mounted this to the orginal stick, then I took the gearshift knob from an old junked Momo Racing and mounted it on the top smile

The gearshift in the pics you see is the one I use ingame smile

     shock

    Theiving swines  mad

I was planning on fitting my PC drive into the Stereo slot, not going to bother now as I intend on replacing the whole of the centre console with a custom made metal face plate etc for all the switches / buttons, real race car style.

i see the stick from your G25 languishing by the accelerator, yet you say you ripped the guts out to make the in position stick work? so why is the button box down there?

'scuse me if i'm being rude/pushy, just made me interested!!! yep

he ripped the guts out of a force feedback joystick which he uses as a gear shifter. There's a program called FFshifter or something which can simulate a gaited H shifter using a force feedback joystick. That's what he's using. I think.

I love it! I watched the whole movie. The shifter looks pretty cool. Very smooth too. Can you just go say from fifth to second gear in a straight line or do you actually feel the gates?

The last part of the movie with the gauges was simply brilliant!!! That looked absolutely sweet mate!  chocks_away

Ehr.. Steve.. so you want the cockpit and the wife?!    That's asking too much m8.. i dont think Mark wants to part with either of them yet

Great job on mounting the instruments, really immersive now.. wowsers...  jawdrop  No excuse for blowing up an engine anymore huh?
I just wonder, the instruments work on a separate program that's attached to the motec... or what's the deal here?  Just wondering.. not planning on building one up just yet.
