We have used GTR2 and later rFactor for the TWIP Time Trials. However we haven't done those in a while I'm afraid. Maybe we should again!

No problem Flapshot, good to hear you're picking it up again. Will look forward to seeing pictures! Curious to see how you made your shifter attachment. Also, you may want to consider not mounting the monitor stand to the racebase but keeping it separate somehow.

    Hey mate,

Yeah, I want to go the projector route - but for the very short term I'll mount on the wheel base. Then I'll possibly wall mount my 22" on an arm and position in front of my face.

I'll be saving for the frex simmotion and canopy setup - so expect this racebase to have to last 3 years!

I dropped out of sim racing for a bit. I was one result away from a top 3 finish in the 2010 iracing skip barber season (div6 admittedly) and just dropped out again. What a loser! smile

I guess as with any hobby we all have our periods of being more or less into it. Nice going in iracing though!

    Thanks mate smile

Do you know about projectors? I have my racebase up against a wall, so no space behind - although I will mount a shelf for the projector. My question is will the distance be OK? I'd ideally like to project onto a fairly small screen which has the wheel shape cut out - like some of the more proffessional setups you see..

Impossible? Or costly, or just a bad idea?

What about 3 screens with a slim bezel? Money is an issue though...

    Thanks smile

If you want to use a projector in that situation, you just need to make sure you get one which has  a short throw lens. Generally speaking DPL projectors have very little or no possibilities of stretching or shrinking the image, giving you very little flexibility in screensize and projector position. LCD projectors usually have quite a bit of flexibility there. Specifications of projectors always include the distance/size ratio and whether or not you can adjust it. Usually you get a little table which shows you what the max. and min. screensize is at every distance.
Why would you want to cut a portion out of the screen though? Could you give me an example of one of these 'professional setups' which have this?

    Projectors are great!  Grin

I think I meant that the screen gets mounted where the drivers feet are, and you cut the screen around the cockpit at the feet area....Maybe that's a load of poo?

So I need a short throw lense? Any recomendations?

    Thanks old chap smile
